Artist and owner Emily Curran is Mom of five kids, wife to a USMC veteran and a graduate of Penn State University. She began painting murals and performing other painting jobs during her time at Penn State.
A business writing course inspired her to take her painting skills in a different direction, something that would allow her to work from home and be with her children. Her work evolved into a home-based studio specializing in handmade children's room décor. These days, Curran's studio is processing orders from all around the world, in thirteen countries and counting.
The Fairy Paintbox is located in Delaware, USA and includes a carpentry shop and painting studio. For more than a decade, The Fairy Paintbox has grown to become a leading supplier of hand painted kids' room décor and wooden alphabet letters around the world, with more than 6500+ orders since 2006.
The Fairy Paintbox's painted wall letters have been featured in The Baltimore Sun's Baltimore At Home Magazine. Curran's artwork has also been featured on MTV Music Television as well as in numerous Maryland & Delaware publications.
In 2021, The Fairy Paintbox is making plans to expand to include additional artists, assistants, machinery and shop space.
